Sunrise Luxury Living Executive Team
Jim Hinton is the Managing Principal of Sunrise Luxury Living and has over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate, focusing exclusively on multifamily assets for over 30 years. Before starting Sunrise Luxury Living, Mr. Hinton was the Senior Vice President of Real Estate Investments at Camden Property Trust from 1995 to 2007. Mr. Hinton’s primary responsibilities included overseeing all facets of multifamily investments including, but not limited to, financing, development, acquisition and disposition of multifamily communities.
Mr. Hinton received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in real estate finance from the University of Texas in 1978. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Texas and the State of California.
Bob Bussone has 25 years experience in commercial real estate with a proven track record of maximizing property cash flows and creating long-term value. Prior to starting with Sunrise Luxury Living, Mr. Bussone served as Vice President of Real Estate Investments with Camden Property Trust for 11 years. He was responsible for overseeing all facets of multifamily investments, which included sourcing both acquisition and development opportunities. Additional responsibilities included handling site selection and layout, defining design criteria, and completing initial cost estimates and planning. He coordinated the approval of all federal, state and local land-use approvals which required interfacing with local planning, operating, finance, and legal organizations in order to meet local requirements while creating positive relationships with community and civic leaders. In total, he has developed over 4,500 units with densities ranging from 20 units per acre to 150 units per acre.
Mr. Bussone received his Bachelors of Business Administration Degree in Finance with a second concentration in Real Estate and Urban Land Development from the University of Texas at Austin. He resides in Southern California with his wife and two sons.
With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Ken Hauser has re-joined the Sunrise Company as Vice President of Construction in 2013 to manage the development/construction of multifamily communities for Sunrise Luxury Living. Mr. Hauser started his construction career while attending classes at the University of Texas as a superintendent for a Houston based company building apartments. After spending eight years in Austin, Texas working on multifamily communities and general contracting, Mr. Hauser moved back to Houston and was employed by the Finger Company in 1991, a national developer/builder of multifamily assets. During his seventeen year tenure at the Finger Company, Mr. Hauser oversaw the completion of community rehabilitations, management capital improvements and new construction. For the last sixteen years, Mr. Hauser managed new construction projects in Florida, Massachusetts, Texas and California, completing fifteen projects and over 4,000 luxury units. Mr. Hauser worked with the Sunrise Company in 2008 and then joined Grayco Builders in 2010 as Vice President of Construction and worked on five projects in Houston and Austin.
Sharlet Matak joined Sunrise Luxury Living in June 2008 as Development Assistant. She is responsible for SLL’s day to day support functions, serves as the Houston office manager, and works with the Houston team in various capacities as needed. Ms. Matak has over 28 years experience in commercial real estate including budgeting, proforma analysis, property supervision, property closings, due diligence, and multifamily and retail asset management.
Ms. Matak received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Houston. She is a licensed Texas Real Estate Salesperson and a Certified Property Manager® through the Institute of Real Estate Management.
Sunrise Company Executive Team
William Bone founded Sunrise Company in 1963 and is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Sunrise Company.
He is a nationally recognized expert in resort residential, hotel and recreation development having developed twelve country club communities, built over twenty golf courses, constructed more than 12,000 homes, built two resort hotels and developed numerous office buildings, shopping centers and commercial hotels. He is frequently sought as a speaker on how to successfully design, develop and market these types of real estate projects.
Born in Bakersfield, California, he received a B.A. in economics from Stanford University in 1963 and an M.B.A. from Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration in 1965.
He has served as a Director/Trustee of the Building Industry Association/Greater Los Angeles Chapter; Stanford Club of Los Angeles; World Vision, Inc.; Fuller Theological Seminary; Eisenhower Medical Center; Dunn School; Bighorn Research Institute; College of the Desert Endowment Campaign for Educational Excellence; Los Angeles Music Center; La Quinta Girls and Boys Club; Friends of the Bob Hope Cultural Center; Marshall Industries; Coachella Valley School District Foundation, Palm Desert Foundation; Bob Hope Chrysler Golf Classic; the University of California Riverside Foundation; Vice Chairman of the Urban Land Institute and Chairman and Founder of the Coachella Valley Friends of the University of California.
In 2003, Mr. Bone received the “Legends” Award from the National Association of Homebuilders. In 1992 he was inducted into the California Building Industry Association Hall of Fame and also received the College of the Desert’s Alumni Association Hall of Fame Award for community leadership. In June 1991, Mr. Bone was honored by the Desert Area, Riverside County chapter of the Building Industry Association (BIA) for his extraordinary contribution to post secondary educational opportunities for the Coachella Valley residents. In addition to being selected 1991 Citizen of the Year by the Boy Scouts, Mr. Bone was awarded the Palm Springs Life Magazine’s Builder of the Decade of 1988.
As Chief Operating Officer of Sunrise Company, Randall Bone brings more than 20 years of hands on experience in the development of more than $2.5 billion dollars in real estate development projects including highly successful residential communities, commercial and multifamily development. Starting his career in construction, Mr. Bone has moved through the critical path of project management, finance and new project start ups, building extensive experience in each aspect of the project development cycle and providing hands-on, detail oriented leadership and an ongoing commitment to the “Evolution of Excellence” which is responsible for the success of Sunrise’s distinctive, award winning communities and homes.
Mr. Bone is a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and a member of ULI’s Board of Directors. Mr. Bone is the founding Chapter Chair of the Aspen Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Mr Bone is a past Chairman of the Recreational Development Council. Mr. Bone is a member of the Aspen Institutes Board of the Vanguard Society of Fellows and is a member of the Boar of Aspen Country Day School in Aspen, Colorado.
Mr. Bone graduated Cum Laude from the University of California at Los Angeles with dual B.A. degrees in Economics and Philosophy, with departmental honors, while Minoring in Physics. Mr. Bone later received his M.B.A. with High Distinction as a Baker Scholar from The Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.
Nancy Hayes is Vice President and Controller for Sunrise Company and oversees the accounting and financial management of all residential development and construction activities including Toscana Country Club in Indian Wells, California, Garden of the Gods Club in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Dancing Bear in Aspen, Colorado, and By the Park Apartments in Houston, TX.
Before joining Sunrise Company in 1998, Ms. Hayes spent nine years with the Del Webb Corporation, most recently as the Controller for the southern California conventional homebuilding division. Her experience also included corporate financial reporting to shareholders and the Securities and Exchange Commission as well as public debt and equity offerings.
Ms. Hayes serves as the Major Gifts Co-Chair for the Family YMCA of the Desert and on the College of the Desert Accounting Advisory Committee. She is a graduate of Arizona State University, where she received a B.S. in Business Administration with an Accounting major. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
